Can I create a wet room using plywood?

No! While some types of plywood may be suitable for use in wet environments, they are NOT suitable for tiling. The trouble is that when any plywood surface gets damp (or is in a damp environment) it will expand. When it dries it will shrink. This process can also make the plywood buckle. Tiles, however, cannot shrink, expand or buckle and they will therefore crack or shear away from the adhesive bed and the tiling could fail. Are your Showerlay trays suitable for fixing vinyl?

Unfortunately not. Point loading on the vinyl could damage the shower tray base. Ceramic or stone tiles become part of the structure of the tray and can spread any point load.

Can I use large tiles to cover the Showerlay tray?

Yes, however you will need to mitre the tiles so they can form to the fall lines of the tray. Mitring can result in unsightly small cuts so we suggest you make a scale drawing to check how the mitres will look. If using square tiles a square shower tray with a centre outlet will work better if the tiles are being mitred. The Showerlay shower trays are only suitable for use with tiles with a minimum size of 25 x 25mm, however with small tiles you need to ensure that they are not subject to excessive point loads, such as sitting on a stool in the shower. 25x25mm tiles are fine with bare foot traffic or ordinary footwear.

Can I cut a Showerlay tray?

Yes, but only against walls or boxing in. When cutting a whole side of the tray where it abuts a wall you should not cut more than 100mm. If opposite faces are being cut ensure both sides are cut equally. The tray will cut with a fine toothed saw.

What thickness Marmox sheet should I use on the floor?

If overlaying timber we suggest using 10mm or thicker, on screeds any thickness will suffice, although the thicker the sheet the better the insulation value.

Can I place an order over the phone?

Sorry but at the moment we only accept orders placed over the internet. We are only too happy to provide advice over the phone, but cannot take orders.

Do you sell overseas?

At the moment the site is not set up for foreign sales, however we are more than happy to quote for larger orders of over £1,000. Please call or send a message outlining your requirements and we will get back to you.

Can I amend or add items to my order?

Please ensure that you have ordered the correct items before you place your order. If you wish to remove items from your order please call us on 0845 051 5145 with your order number. If the order has not been dispatched your order items can be refunded. Unfortunately it is not possible to add to orders once payment has been taken.

If the value of the additional products is over £50 the easiest way to get additional products is to place a new separate order - delivery will be free! If the total of the items is less than £50 you can either pay a small carriage charge, or we'll refund your previous order so you can put the amended order through again.

Orders placed before 2pm will be dispatched the same day, subject to stock (this applies to orders placed on a working week day, orders placed on the weekend or public holiday will be processed the next working day).

How long will it take for my order to arrive?

Orders placed before 2pm will be dispatched the same day. All orders are sent express delivery. You should expect to receive your order within 1-2 working days - if ordered before 2pm.

Do I have to sign for my order?

Yes you do. For security reasons all orders must be signed for on receipt. Please check all items before you sign for the order, you cannot claim for damages if you have signed for the order without indicating the damage.

Can I get my order delivered to another address?

Yes you can! On the checkout pages you can choose to send your order to a different delivery address. All items must be sent to the same address - however it doesn't have to be the billing address.

What if I am out when my order arrives?

The driver will not leave your order without getting a signature. If the first delivery fails, a second delivery attempt is required. Please make sure that your contact number is up to date before you order. If the delivery fails for a second time there may be a delivery charge to re-send goods. If you know you will be out you can leave a signed note to leave your packages with a specified neighbour. Please make sure your note is signed.
